This included the design and implementation of integrated occupational health services, emergency medical response systems, fatigue prevention frameworks, journey risk management guidelines, and standardized clinical protocols for chemical exposure, trauma, burns, and industrial hazards, aligned with international standards, including the WHO Healthy Workplace Model.
I have played a leading role in shaping/developing national workplace health initiatives, including large-scale tuberculosis elimination programs, adult immunization strategies, COVID-19 mitigation strategies, ensuring business continuity and the continuity of essential energy supplies during the pandemic.
I pioneered holistic employee wellbeing programs aligned with the WHO Healthy Workplace Model, addressing physical health, mental health, nutrition, and psychosocial risks.
The extraordinary significance of my work is reflected in measurable outcomes, including disease prevention, strengthened emergency preparedness, institutionalization of preventive health, wellbeing and safety systems at national scale, business continuity during public health crisis, sustained recognition of our work at highest levels, including international and national healthy workplace awards, leadership roles in global professional bodies, editorial board roles, peer-review responsibilities and repeated invitations to present our best practices at major national and international forums.

A game-changing medical device, created under IndianOil’s startup funding initiative, is set to transform the landscape of prenatal care. Developed by M/s EDHAA INNOVATIONS, this co-patented device will make vital First Trimester Screening (FTS) widely available to every expectant mother.
Previously, FTS screening—which detects risks for chromosomal abnormalities such as Down syndrome—was a time-consuming and expensive process, especially in remote areas. Expectant parents often faced an anxious wait of 3 to 7 days for results. This new device changes everything.
Now, a simple, pen-drive-sized kit connects to a computer or mobile phone, delivering crucial Beta-hCG and PAPP-A results in just one hour. This innovation eliminates the need for expensive, large-scale lab equipment, drastically shortens the waiting period, and offers families peace of mind with faster access to critical health information.

IndianOil is India’s flagship national oil company and is present across the hydrocarbon value chain. Since the inherent property of hydrocarbon is hazardous, our industry is a hazardous industry. Though most of the handling of hydrocarbon takes place in a closed and isolated environment but the risk of exposure is always present.
The risk of employees being exposed to the hazards of chemicals which may be toxic, reactive, flammable, or explosive is always present wherever there is close interaction with the chemicals. Some of the chemical from which the risk of exposure exists in our industry are H2S, ammonia, chlorine, SO2, Benzene, ethylene, propylene, gasoline, naphtha, CO, VOC (hydrocarbon vapours) etc.
The Corporation is concerned about the health of its employees and workmen, and therefore precautions are taken at all levels to ensure safety of not only the personnel at site, but also to ensure the safety and wellbeing of its surroundings. Necessary safety measures are outlined for hazardous processes and the same are implemented and reviewed time and again.
Even with all the safety measures at place there is always a risk of uncontrolled leakage/ exposure of hazardous chemicals due to inadvertent reasons leading to an emergency. At all IndianOil locations, a robust H,S&E team is in place which not only provides a systematic and synchronized proactive approach to managing risks, but also helps define strategies to implement control actions, mitigation measure during emergency, substantiate performance, map resources and manage competencies.
These guidelines are in addition to the existing statutory requirement, corporate guidelines for the prevention and management of acute and chronic exposure to these chemicals. The guideline also identifies the training requirement and recommended PPEs for handling hazardous chemicals.

Training on Initial management of Medical Emergencies, trauma and burns during the golden hour is a critical aspect of workplace safety in the oil industry, ensuring preparedness and an effective response to burn-related incidents. A prompt and efficient emergency medical management system is aimed to provide effective management of burn injuries to help minimize long-term health effects. The first hour of burn is called the 'golden hour', and emergency management within this time can save numbers of lives, minimize the severity of a burn and reduce the duration of hospital stay.
To address this critical need, we have developed and conducted structured training programs for IndianOil HSE personnel, medical officers and para-medical personnel including the contractual doctors managing the First-Aid Centre/ Hospital Emergency in Refinery units and retainer doctors visiting locations/ installations across all Divisions.

Each year, there is a significant cost to the community and industry in terms of loss of personnel resources, loss of production and high costs of health care due to some of the major causes of morbidity & mortality like heart disease, stroke, complications of Hypertension and Diabetes, respiratory diseases, cancers and injury.
Preventive Health Check Up is conducted with an aim to identify these causes of morbidity & mortality, extend the healthy life expectancy of people, to improve the quality of life for people with a disease or disability and to avoid untimely mortalities.
Preventive healthcare is not a choice, but a requirement. Executive health checks are not just about preventing diseases, it is also about maintaining your health optimally. When you meet your health care provider, they will assess your general health and recommend screenings or tests that they think are required to get a deeper insight. Finding problems early are important for treatment to be more effective and curative. Certain diseases do not show signs and symptoms until they have caused a lot of damage. It is these diseases that need to be identified at the earliest and is often picked up by regular health checks.

ON-POINT is an ultra-portable device for maternal health screening, delivering lab-quality results in minutes. It's digital, low-power system detects high-risk pregnancy conditions reliably at the last mile.
